With two little girls, we have a ton of those hair clips, barrettes, head bands.... you name it, we have it. I make them too, so it just adds to the huge amount of them! Anyway, I was getting sick of digging thru the drawers when trying to do their hair in the morning, and so here is what I came up with!
ok! I know it looks hideous! i got this large frame from a thrift shop around here for 1.00.... it had total potential. I took the inside board out and got some white spray paint- and had at it!
(Quick! What's similar in both photos? If you guessed my toes, you win! )
It took a few coats to get a decent coverage.... SO while I was waiting I got the other part started.
I gathered my supplies... A piece of batting (the size of the board), a piece of fabric (same size with some overhang), a bunch of different ribbons, a hot glue gun, and scissors... I also used some clothes pins and some paint!
I painted the clothespins to match the fabric and set them aside to dry. I was going for a certain look, so my painting was sorda messy... but I like it that way!
I laid the batting over the board and put the fabric over that... then I proceeded to cover the board, using the hot glue....
Pretty! :) Then, I added the ribbons across! :) Attaching them with hot glue on the back! I like randomness!
Then, I painted a light pink over top of the frame, leaving much of the white exposed.... Trimmed out the indented part with a ribbon, added a bow, and put the back into the frame.... VioLA!
oooops! ALmost forgot to add the clothes pins!! :)
Put clippies on and enjoy!!
And of course, since now I have a gorgeous place to store them, I had to make a few new bows!!
Hope you enjoyed! If you have any questions or suggestions- LET ME KNOW!! Thank you!
